Becoming One With Nature

Before the 'birthday party' season started (we know a lot of kids born in the later part of the year; guess we know what their parents were doing on those sultry summer nights) we were starting to get out and explore a few of the walking tracks in the Cairns area and up on the Tablelands.

These are photos of Lake Barrine, a crater lake with its own ferry tours and Tea House for Devonshire Tea. This day we walked the 5km circuit track around the lake for the very first time. We have been waiting for the kids to be old enough to do some more challenging walks and that time has come. Now there are no more excuses for our laziness; we have to get out and get moving. Next walk will be Emerald Creek Falls, but that will have to wait until there's a break in the birthday season.

  1. I am often up at Lake Barrine on a Sunday diving followed by Pumpkin soup and scones in the Tea House.
