Sunday Session: Did you know they're Canadian?

On Sundays, I join Thea at Do I Really Wanna Blog? in popping two favourite songs on the blog. An oldie but a goldie. And a newbie, fresh from the charts, or fresh from the past five years. Rules are meant to be broken, so of course you can too! Here are my picks for this week. You can play along by linking up with Thea.
Happy Sunday!

There are few television programmes that I enjoy so much that I would watch episodes repeatedly and still laugh like I was seeing it for the first time, but one that I will sit down and watch, no matter how many times I've seen it, is The Big Bang Theory.

Here is an example of the comic genius that is Jim Parsons as Sheldon:

So because this is a post about music and not sitcoms, here's the Canadian* band, the Barenaked Ladies, singing the theme song:

And here they are, singing Enid (Embedding is disabled).

So don't you just love the Big Bang Theory and the Barenaked Ladies?

*Yes, even after 18 years away from Canada and 10 years as an Aussie citizen, I still congratulate myself for being born in the same country as famous Canadians. Did you know that I went to the same high school as Michael J Fox (but a few years later)?

  1. Oh excellent, I love claims to fame...no matter how lame! ;)

I've never seen the Big Bang Theory...I know I know, I've missed out! I loved Johnny Galecki (I had to Google that to find his name) in Roseanne.

  2. I actually get frustrated with Sheldon and want to slap him! So, I don't watch it much, but I do love that theme song and now that I've seen the clip, there is just something so cute about the lead singer - his eyes, his half smile -adorable!

  3. I enjoy the Big Bang Theory also no matter how many times I have seen it. Sheldon reminds me very much of a guy I knew in the UK.

I didn't realise the theme song was actually a song. Very nice.

  4. Thea: Lame? What are you trying to say? ;-)

Wendy: I thought the lead singer looks a bit like Anthony from the Wiggles.

Tori: Yeah, I also didn't realise until I found that clip.

  5. Yes - do love Big Bang. Very funny and uncomplicated. Perfect for a tired mummy brain. Sheldon is such a crack up. Penny Penny Penny!!

  6. Calling by as another Sunday Session participant, not familiar with the music but I am with Michael J Fox. :)

I appreciate your taking the time to comment!
